Supplementary Travel Funding

The Poly‐SM Center can provide supplemental travel funding to present original research at
conferences, workshops, and other venues. Details of the funding are provided below.
Funding can be used to support a wide variety of personnel (faculty, graduate students,
postdocs, or undergraduate researchers).

  • Funding can be used to support a wide variety of personnel (faculty, graduate students,
    postdocs, or undergraduate researchers).
  • Maximum award: $500 (conferences within the continental U.S.), $1,000 (Conferences outside of the continental U.S.)
  • Only one award per faculty per calendar year.
  • Only requests from affiliated Poly‐SM Center faculty will be evaluated. Requests must be
    submitted directly by faculty.
  • After an award is made, the faculty will be required to confirm that the funds were used
    towards the originally requested purpose, or the faculty must request a modification for
    expending the funds.
  • The associated presentation must acknowledge support from Poly‐SM (e.g., add Poly‐SM logo
    on the acknowledgments slide).
  • Priority consideration will be given to oral presentations and presentations at
    national/international venues.
  • Decisions will depend on the general availability of funds within the Poly‐SM Center.
  • All information on the Supplemental Travel Funding request form must be provided to be
    considered.
  • Requests can be made at any time.
